MailChimp allows its users to decorate their newsletter template in such a way that easily attracts the targeted customers.Today in this article I am going to show you how to create an email newsletter with the MailChimp email marketing tool.
So, let’s start.
Step 1: Log in
First, you need to log in to your MailChimp account.
From the MailChimp dashboard, press on the log-in option and provide your user name and password.
Then press on the login option. After this, you need an SMS verification code to log in to the main dashboard.
Because MailChimp has included this two-step login system for providing more security.
After providing the code, you will be directed in to a new interface, like this,
Step 2: Newsletter Campaign Creation
From the top menu bar, you will look at the “Campaign” option and click on the “Create campaign”.
Then you will see a new interface. Here you can be able to select email, ad, landing page, postcard, sign-up form for creating the newsletter.
Press on the “Email” option.Now you are able to choose regular / automated / plain-text or A/B Test email options.
Today we will see regular email in this article.
Now provide your campaign name and press on the “Begin” button.
Step 3: From , To, Subject form creation
After this, you will see “From” “To” “Subject” “Content” options for providing more information about you and your recipients and so on for the newsletter.
In the “To” section, you have to select the recipient’s list. Just click on the “ Add Recipients” and select the list.
Besides, you will be able to tag or segment your audiences from here.
After pressing the “Personalize Field” so that your email recipients can get personalized emails, that mentions their first/last name at the beginning of the email.
After selecting FName/ LName, press the “save” button.
Now it is time to edit the “From” option. Here you can edit your name and personal email address if you want.
And then click on the “Save” button to save the changes.
From the “Subject” option you can be able to set an attractive subject name for your email newsletter.And always try to use spamfree and engaging subject lines for attracting the audiences.
So that when the recipients will see it up , they obliged to open your email freely.
In the preview text, write some text so that the recipients get some idea about the email before opening it.
And press on the “Save” button.
Now it is time to design the email. Press on the “ Design Email” button.
Step 4: Select Template
In this page, you will get a lot of pre-built template layouts and themes.Different types of layouts like announcements, self-products, follow-up email, art-newsletter, ecommerce, 1 column, 1:2 column, 1:2:1 column, template etc are available in MailChimp template library.
We will use the 1:2 column template here. You can use your favorable template as you need.
After clicking on the specific template, a new interface will appear to you.
Step 5: Email Design
You will be able to edit the footer, email content, image, and text in your template.
When you click on the footer image option, you will get the option “Replace” to set images from your computer folder.
Click on, Replace > Upload > select the image > select > Insert
Here you can be able to put links also.
From the content body, MailChimp allows using different types of font, style, image, text, etc.
When you click on any part of the text, at the sidebar, you will get the option to edit the text. Like this,
If you want to set a clickable link on your text, select the targeted text and click on the Link Icon.
Then insert or edit the targeted link to the web address (URL) option.
And make sure the open in new window option is checked. Then click on “Insert”.
After this link insertion, when any recipient clicks on the links, websites will be loaded on the new tabs.
When you insert images, you can drop images or browse from your computer’s image folder.
Click on, Replace > Upload > select the image > select > Insert
Then the image will be uploaded and you can easily change the text on the image.
Now it is time to set the button under the image. Click on the “Button” option and drag it to the place where you want to set this.
You will be able to make some necessary changes like button text, link, and the web address for the button from the “Content” option.
And from the “Style” section you can change the color, font, size, border, background image, and so on elements.
MailChimp allows adding social icons and links like Facebook, Twitter, Website page URL, email, Snapchat, Vimeo, and so on platforms in your email newsletter.
After these changes, click on “ save” and close it. The template is ready to preview.
From the “Preview and Test” button you can be able to see how your email template is going to look on desktop and mobile devices.
Besides this, you can use and edit different elements like video, image group, image card, divider, boxed text, social follow, etc.
Step 6: Test Email Sending
From the “ preview and Test” option you will get “send a test email” for sending this email to test.
Then provide those email addresses to whom you want to send it.
And press on “Send Test”.
And you can be able to check the email template finally from this “Preview” option before sending it.
Step 7: Send The Template
After the final check, click on the “Send” option located on the sidebar. Then the template will be sent to your selected recipients immediately.
And if you want to schedule your template that is also possible by selecting the time slot.
