GetResponse vs AWeber- Which Tools Is Right For You?

February 3, 2022 by Toufik Hasan Leave a Comment

GetResponse vs AWeber

Automation

AWeber email marketing tool offers a simple and easy automation system.

But GetResponse’s automation system is a little bit more complex and advanced than AWeber because of the autoresponder feature.

In fact, “Autoresponder” is the key difference between AWeber and GetResponse.

The Autoresponder system allows you to send autoresponder messages on specific days, add contacts, schedule automated messages with the help of calendar view and list view, and so on advantages.

GetResponse vs AWeber

And all these automated advantages are unavailable in AWeber.

For the automated list building process, GetResponse has a feature called “Conversion Funnel”.

This feature will increase the conversion rate of your website, drive more leads, etc for your e-commerce business and others.

GetResponse vs AWeber

AWeber doesn’t belong to the conversion funnel feature directly.

But Aweber is integrated with Funneljoy, which will help you to gather leads and get a sales conversion funnel.

Another difference is that Aweber provides work-flow based automation depending on the behavioral triggers.

GetResponse vs AWeber

But GetResponse offers work-flow based automation based on conditions, actions, and filters.

Segmentation

GetResponse has a beneficial list-based segmentation system depending on email open, click, etc.

You can be able to create individual groups, locations, etc of search conditions for making email group lists. In this case, there is no need to segment them in a separate list.

GetResponse vs AWeber

For eCommerce stores, you can be able to segment your customers using their behaviors and engagement. So, you can target these audiences for your campaigns.

Those people who are showing interest and regularly visit your pages, repeat customers, you can segment them by categorizing them on the engagement score.

GetResponse vs AWeber

And the engagement score is 1-5.

GetResponse vs AWeber

You can also see the purchasing history, contact information, age, sex, location, and so on after connecting to CRM.

AWeber provides email list segmentation based on the audience’s email behaviors like click, open, visits, location, tags, sign-up forms, etc.

You can also segment your audiences depending on the customer’s behaviors, page visits, etc.

But the main difference is that, in AWeber, if you want to add contact details or any other customer information, you have to do it manually.

But in GetResponse email marketing too, this process is automated.

NB: GetResponse is the winner for the more advanced segmentation feature.

Pricing Plans

AWeber email marketing tool offers a pricing plan “AWeber PRO” with a free plan.

AWeber PRO plan has monthly, quarterly and annual pricing to keep in mind the subscriber’s advantages.

  • AWeber Free:

In this free plan, you will get,

  • AWeber PRO:

This plan has different pricing for the different numbers of contacts for monthly/quarterly/ annually with other features.

All these features are the same for the annual, quarterly, and monthly PRO subscribers.

If you want to buy 0-500 contacts monthly, you have to pay $19.99 per Month, for quarterly $16.33 per month and $16.15 per Month annually.

Monthly Pricing for 0-500 Contacts:

Quarterly Pricing for 0-500 Contacts:

Annual Pricing for 0-500 Contacts:

And if you want to buy 5001-2500 / 2501-5000 / 5001-10,000 / 10,001- 25,000 contacts, you have to pay more to AWeber.com

Now Come to the GetResponse Pricing plans.

GetResponse has 3 pricing plans for monthly/annually even for 2 years; with a free plan.

And as like AWeber’s you can choose here different contact-based plans as your need.

  • Free: In this free plan, you will get unlimited newsletters, 1 landing page, a custom domain, and so on.
  • Basic:

  • Plus:

  • Professional:

  • And another important thing is that GetResponse offers 18% off for annual plan subscribers and 30% off for the 24-month subscribers, this discount offer you won’t get in AWeber.

Now come to the pricing comparison.

  • GetResponse’s pricing starts at $15/mo (monthly in Basic plan) for 1k subscribers.
  • At this point, AWeber’s plan starts at $19.99 per month (monthly plan) for 500 subscribers.

In this case, AWeber’s starting pricing is a little bit more, along with lower contacts.

There is another difference between them.

  • AWeber’s features are the same for the annual, quarterly, and monthly plan purchasers, how many contacts they buy is not the fact.
  • But GetResponse has different features for different plans, such as, for Basic plan purchasers will get fewer features than the PRO plan users.
  • But AWeber’s 0-500 contacts purchasers and 25000 contact purchasers will get the same features, which is an extra benefit for AWeber’s subscribers.
  • GetResponse has added so many features for mid and large companies in the MAX and MAX2 plans (custom pricing).

Like this,

That is totally absent in AWeber email marketing tool.

If you need so many advanced features for email marketing, AWeber will not fit for you.

NB: GetResponse is the Winner.

You can compare ConvertKit vs MailChimp

Landing page

AWeber has professionally-designed landing page templates and a pre-stocked image library.

It has a landing page builder tool for designing the landing page.

Like,

  • Thank you upsell
  • Consultation
  • Ebook offer
  • Checklist offer
  • Flash sale
  • Webinar
  • Newsletter
  • Link feed
  • Podcast
  • Coupon opt-in

You will get a drag and drop editor, Custom domains, Video support, Google Analytics, and Facebook Pixel as the tracking tools.

AWeber landing page subscribers can also be added to email lists with tags.

Besides, AWeber allows transforming hyperlinks into rich media like polls, music, live video, RSS feeds, audio playlists, products, and more.

AWeber is integrated with Canva for designing the landing page images.

You can use the editing tools also for customizing text, background image, font, color, size, and so on elements.

Now it is the term of GetResponse.

GetResponse has also pre-built templates and stock photos along with Unsplash integration.

And it has the facility to add content blocks for image, text, color, font, size, pop-up forms, buttons, static forms, webinar registration forms, and so on.

You can be able to set the count-down timers along with your landing pages, and this feature is unavailable in AWeber.

If you want to add or customize the HTML, CSS, or Javascript code for your page, that is also possible here.

Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Google Tag Manager, or CrazyEgg tracking tools can be added with the GetResponse landing page.

But AWeber only allows Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel as tracking tools.

You will also get a domain from GetResponse as like AWeber.

So, we can come to a decision that, GetResponse has some advanced features than AWeber like

  • Count-down timer
  • Google Tag Manager, or CrazyEgg tracking tools
  • CSS, or Javascript code customization
  • The SEO-optimized page title and meta description
  • A/B tests for testing the landing page

NB: GetResponse is the Winner.

Sign-up Forms

The main differences between Aweber and GetResponses’s sign-up forms are,

  • GetResponse offers more professional with standard graphics sign-up forms than AWeber.

Just see the templates at a glance.

AWeber Sign up form:

GetResponse Sign up form:

  • Another difference is thatGetResponse allows users to integrate their sign up forms with WordPress, Facebook, WooCommerce, and Prestashop pages. But AWeber allows it to integrate only with Facebook and WordPress.

Web Push Notification

The main difference between AWeber and GetResponse’s “Web Push Notification” is, AWeber’s “Web push notification” feature will give you only the high engagement and web traffic.

But this feature of GetResponse will give you more benefits like converting visitors to customers, bringing the visitors back, and optimizing the marketing stack.

  • Another difference for “Web Push Notification” between these two giant email marketing tool is, AWeber offers “Web Push Notification” feature for their free subscribers.
  • On the other hand, GetResponse doesn’t offer this to their free subscribers, they provide it only for the Professional and MAX plan users.

Email Delivery

GetResponse has a good reputation for good email delivery.

GetResponse.com has acclaimed that, currently their email delivery rate is 99%.

An AWeber email marketing tool has revealed the same result for their email delivery.

They assured their email delivery is exceeding 99% on a monthly basis.

Email delivery rate is the same for GetResponse.com and AWeber.com.

Now come to another comparison. Let’s see a percentage report of the email inbox, spam, lost, and sent.

Now come to the email open rate, click rate, and CTR.

GetRespons’s average email open rate is 22.02% and the average CTR is 2.13%.

The average email click-to-open rate is 10.12%.

Now come to the AWeber email open rate, click rate, and CTR.

  • Here we can see that AWeber’s email open rate is between 11-50% and the average goes to 20%.
  • But GetResponse’s email open rate is 22%. So in this case, GetResponse is more advanced than AWeber.

Now come to the CTR.

Here the percentage of AWeber’s CTR is between 0-10%.

  • And the average CTR is 2.3% but GetResponse’s average CTR is 2.13%.

We know that a 2% CTR is good for email.

So, we can say that AWeber has a higher CTR rate.

Let’s see another report of total clicks and opens of AWeber.

NB: For open rate, GetResponse is the winner

And for CTR AWeber is the winner.

Bounce Rate and Unsubscribe Rate

We know that the acceptable spam rate of email is less than 0.1%.

According to the GetResponse resource and report, the spam rate of GetResponse(in all continents) is 0.01%, which is an acceptable percentage.

Less than 0.5% is a good unsubscribe rate for email delivery.

And the unsubscribe rate of GetResponse is  0.12% which is satisfactory enough.

Now come to the AWeber spam and unsubscribe rate.

According to AWeber’s number of messages and Complaints, their spam rate is only 0.001%.

  • And GetResponse’s spam rate is 0.01%.
  • So AWeber’s spam rate is 0.009% (0.01%-0.001%=0.009%) less than GetResponse.
  • And I haven’t found any report from AWeber.com to show you the exact unsubscribe rate of AWeber.

But I have calculated the unsubscribe rate from a report given below.

For 3k emails, the unsubscribe rate is 0.6%.

NB: AWeber is the winner for the lower spam rate.

Support

GetResponse offers 24/7 live chat support and an email support system for their subscribers.

And without the MAX plan, naturally, the authority doesn’t provide any support via phone.

And another matter of sorrow is that the free users will be deprived of chat support and email support.

But AWeber email marketing tool allows 24/7 live chat, 24/7 email support, and phone support (At 8 AM-8 PM).

And their phone, live chat, and email support are both for the free and PRO users.

NB: AWeber is the winner.

Integration

AWeber email marketing tool is integrated with 250+ apps.

You will get different types of category-based apps like CRM, Landing page, eCommerce, lead generation, etc.

As for content management, WordPress, Blogger, Ghost, Wix is integrated with it.

Shopify, WooCommerce, PayPal, Etsy, BigCommerce, EcWid, Magento, Stripe, and so on eCommerce platforms and payment methods are with AWeber.

And Facebook, Facebook leads ads. LinkedIn lead gen forms and so on social platforms are integrated with this tool.

Besides, membership, productivity tools, surveys, videos, webinar apps are integrated with AWeber to help you.

Now come to the GetResponse Integrations.

GetResponse is advanced more in this feature.

This email marketing tool is integrated with 4000+ apps along with CRM, marketing automation, ads & conversation, email & Google, social media marketing etc.

Facebook leads ads, Google sheets, Unbounce, PayPal, Calendly, WooCommerce, AWeber, GoToWebinar, and so on integrated apps you can be able to use in GetResponse.

Besides this, MailChimp, Campaign Monitor, Constant Contact, Emma email newsletter apps are with GetResponse.

GetResponse is directly integrated with the Unsplash app for using a huge number of stock photos that you won’t get in the AWeber email marketing tool.

And the important topic is that GetResponse has Facebbok ads, Instagram ads, Google ads, social media ads creator and sales funnel software.

So that, using the social media ads you can easily redirect your audiences to your e-commerce store, landing page, sales pages, which is totally absent in AWeber.

GetResponse has Facebook pixel, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, email analytics tools as tracking tools.

But AWeber will provide you only the email analytics and tracking tools only.

NB: GetResponse is the Winner.
